Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy working with college students and have experience working in a college counseling center. I enjoy helping people with depression, anxiety, and other problems navigating challenges related to academics, identity, family issues, and relationships. I especially enjoy supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ (and trans people in particular), children of immigrants, and international students.
Life can bring seasons of stress, uncertainty, and change, but you do not have to navigate them alone. Grace-Full Living Counseling provides virtual counseling services throughout Texas for individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, grief, and life transitions. Services are culturally responsive and tailored to each client's unique needs, with faith-based integration available for those who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am proud to say I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a true believer that not one of my fellow humans is immune to stress, anxiety, and feelings of sadness at some point in their life. We all find ourselves feeling vulnerable at times. It is completely normal to question why we feel the emotions that we do, why we seem to fall apart at times, and better yet, how we can get through it all in one beautiful piece. I think the first step to meaningful recovery from anxiety, depression, complex mental illness, and/or substance use is to reach out and ask for help. It is a difficult, but very brave action. I am not one to judge, look down on, question your past experiences, or current situation. I am very good at rationally breaking down a situation and I can offer practical advice and medication suggestions depending on your goal in mind. In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. College brings a lot of change — newfound independence, heavy course loads, and big life decisions that come with new relationships. My desire is to provide a warm, down-to-earth space where college students can talk through the challenges of becoming more independent, manage academic stress, and figure out next steps after committing to a partner. Together we’ll build practical skills, set realistic goals, and find choices that feel true to you. If you need support navigating this stage, I’m here to help.
I help students and young adults navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship struggles, and figuring out who you are in the middle of all the transitions life throws at you. My approach is collaborative and holistic—we look at both your mental and physical health, using tools like cognitive reframing and psychotherapy to find what actually works for you. I believe there’s no one right answer for anyone, so we work together to figure out solutions that fit your life and goals. My goal is to make every session a space where you feel heard, supported, and safe to be yourself. Think of me as a partner in helping you handle the stress, find balance, and build the skills to thrive on campus and beyond.

Hello! When working with my clients, I am ultimately headed towards creating a trusting environment that is conducive to exploring and decreasing emotional distress, maladaptive behaviors and increasing personal emotional wellness. Let's be real. Anxiety is a b!tch. You know the kind I mean. Heart racing, chest tight, skin crawling, lying awake at 3am when you have to be up at 6. The kind that doesn't care how put-together you look on the outside. Most of my clients grew up in environments where they had to stay on guard just to get through the day. Emotionally unsafe, physically unsafe, or both. They learned early that keeping quiet, going along with things, and making themselves small was the smartest way to avoid getting hurt. And it worked, for a while. The problem is, survival strategies don't just turn off. So now you're people-pleasing in relationships you're not happy in. Biting your tongue when you should be speaking up. Telling yourself "it's fine" when it's really, really not. You know that voice in your head that says I should be over this by now? That's not clarity. That's the trauma talking. Here's what I see in my clients before they start working with me: they're exhausted. Not tired, exhausted. Drained by the constant hum of worry. Distant from the people they care about. Too spent to return a text, too anxious to be present, too guarded to actually rest. They carry it all in their chest like a weight they've stopped noticing because it's been there so long. You deserve something different. Not "managed" anxiety. Not white-knuckling your way through the week. Actually different. Setting your own terms. Saying no without a three-paragraph apology. Showing up in your relationships without shrinking. Feeling okay in your own skin without needing someone else's approval first. If you want to ditch the anxiety, break out of people-pleasing, and finally start living on your own terms, I'd love to help you get there.
College is exciting! It can also be terrifying, overwhelming, and lonely. Even if you have your educational and career path chosen and locked in. For most young adults, it's their first time living independently and truly stepping into this thing called adulthood. There is a new level of responsibility that can feel like it's too much. Do you find yourself feeling anxious before classes or social events that are supposed to be THE thing in college? Maybe you're finding it harder and harder to get out of bed, go to work, complete your assignments, or to even hang out with friends. You may find yourself questioning your choices about any and everything, including school. Finding who you are as a young adult, independent of your family can be daunting. On the other side of the college journey is preparing to graduate and step into the professional world. All of these experiences are likely to bring up stress and conflicting emotions within you. In our work together you will find a safe and affirming place to explore who you are, what you want and where you're going. You will learn ways to recognize, honor and manage your feelings in ways that are inline with your values. You will be able to talk about the hard stuff, while also finding moments of humor in this ride we call life. Are you ready to feel more in control of your feelings and more confident as you step into the next phase of life? Reach out to me and let's do this!
