Therapists for college students near University of Texas at Austin
CopeWell Psychiatry & Wellness
Hi, I’m Dr. Udo Chukwuocha, a doctoral-prepared psychiatric and family nurse practitioner who offers a supportive and holistic approach to mental health. I work well with college students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unmotivated, emotionally stuck, or experiencing sleep and focus issues. Many of my clients are adjusting to big life transitions, juggling school and personal pressures, or trying to make sense of their emotions and habits. I especially enjoy supporting students from BIPOC and immigrant communities, as well as women navigating mood changes related to hormones. If you’ve had negative experiences with mental health care before or felt misunderstood, I strive to create a space that feels inclusive, collaborative, and respectful of your unique background. My approach blends medication management with lifestyle coaching, brief supportive therapy, and integrative tools like supplements and lab testing when helpful. If you're looking for care that looks at the bigger picture—not just symptoms—I’d be glad to support you.

Billie Beard
Hello my name is Billie. Like so many people I grew up in a conservative town that made it clear that they saw Queerness as "evil" and "destroying the family." I started Texas Queer Counseling to allow people the space to figure out who they are, away from the expectations society places on us. As a transwoman I know the state of Texas has is not a safe place to live. It is also important to find the joy of being Queer. Don't be as miserable as the people trying to criminalize our lives. I offer a complimentary 30 minute session.

I would describe my therapeutic approach as empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, collaborative, and action-oriented. I find that the realization of change is important and that this process will include us working together and being invested in the therapeutic process. My extensive experience in the helping profession allows for a diversity of issues to be addressed. I often add, “Nothing is too big or too small, we will address it all.” From depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, and many others, we will work to together to achieve change and desired outcomes. I utilize multiple evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while practicing culturally sensitive care to help my clients heal and grow. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group is a behavioral health provider group in-network with Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth. For my availability, please reach out to Octave’s team by emailing or calling.
