I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.

Most people who contact me are dealing with a relationship that feels stuck. The same argument keeps coming back, trust has been damaged, or they are trying to make sense of what happened. I work with couples and with individual adults dealing with betrayal, trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, and questions involving faith or religious harm. My style is steady and direct. I want us to understand what is happening and decide what needs to change outside the session. Therapy is entirely online for clients in Florida, Texas, Utah, and Arizona.
I work with creative young adults struggling with belonging and identity, ADHD & disability concerns, and deep past wounds in a creative and compassionate way.

Our goal will be to systematically explore the past and present elements affecting your life so we can establish and/or confirm a diagnosis and the appropriate level of care for you. Before our session, you will receive documents for you to fill out. Assessment can be lengthily at times and prefilled documents can ease us into a more enjoyable conversation. We will also go over the rules and regulations to preserve safety and lay the framework for your treatment. After our first session, follow up appointments are usually between 25-30 mins long and the frequency of the sessions can be decided by medication management and therapeutic outcomes. Because every case can be different from the next one, your treatment will be tailored to your need. The complexity of your case will determine the adjustments to your treatment plan. When pertinent, we will do our best to provide you with complementary services from around your community. I hope to do this all while helping you feel as comfortable as possible. Given that some topics can be challenging, some questions can be addressed in more detail in following sessions as you become more acquainted with me and the rest of our team. I believe that everyone has positive qualities that will help them succeed in life once they can identify, focus, and build on these qualities. My job is to create a trusting, inclusive, open environment where my clients can work on becoming the best version of themselves possible. I am a queer trans non-binary therapist and expressive arts therapist. My focus is providing individual therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults, women, and non-monogamous and polyamorous people. I specialize in working with trans and non-binary folks and people navigating relationships, building confidence, or wanting to engage the arts as part of therapy. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, feel comfortable exploring your experience and taking risks, and take steps towards what’s important to you. I am social justice oriented, neurodiversity-affirming, and work from a trauma-informed perspective. I am able to see clients in both Washington and Texas, and practice under the supervision of Candice Holloway, LPC-S and Breona Mendoza, LMHC. As expressive arts therapist, I often bring play and creative expression into therapy. This could include anything from creating a D&D character who represents part of your experience, to making a music playlist, to integrating visual art, movement, music, writing, or role-playing into our work. As a therapist, I am warm, engaged, and curious. You deserve a therapist that gets you – it’s important to me to take time to get to know you. I cheer you on and see myself as a facilitator and collaborator as you work towards your goals. As a human, I love camping, attending queer and sex-positive events, finding dogs, and trying new gluten free recipes.
Life hasn’t gone the way you thought it would. Maybe you’re grieving someone or something important, navigating chronic illness, or facing a major life change that’s left you questioning who you are. You might look “fine” on the outside but you feel lost, disconnected, or just tired of holding it all together. Deep down you want to feel at peace - to rediscover your sense of purpose, rebuild your confidence, find your new normal, and reconnect with the part of yourself you’ve had to leave behind. I offer a calm, supportive space to process what you’re going through - without judgment or pressure. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, I help clients explore self-compassion, resilience, and growth. Together, we’ll uncover what healing looks like for you and take it one day at a time. You don’t have to face this alone. Healing doesn’t mean pretending everything’s okay - it’s about honoring your story and finding new ways forward. We might laugh, maybe even curse a little, but we’ll always keep it real. If you’re ready to begin again, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. I specialize in helping individuals who are experiencing chronic illness, life transitions, and grief as well as suicidal thoughts and psychosis. Chronic Illness: Living with a chronic illness can impact every part of your life - your identity, your relationships, your energy, and your sense of control. Together, we’ll make space for the frustration, fear, and grief that can come with ongoing health challenges. We’ll explore ways to honor your body’s limits while still creating a fulfilling, meaningful life that feels like yours again. Life Transitions: Change, even when it’s “supposed” to be positive, can feel unsettling. Whether you’re adjusting to a move, a career shift, becoming a caregiver, or adjusting to a new phase of life, I’ll help you slow down, reflect, and find your new normal. Our work will focus on clarity, self-compassion, and building resilience as you move through uncertainty and rediscover your footing. Grief: Grief isn’t something to “get over.” It’s a process of learning how to carry what’s been lost and find moments of peace amongst the pain. Whether you’re mourning a loved one, a part of yourself, or a life that didn’t go as planned, we’ll navigate that process together - with gentleness, honesty, and the space to just be where you are. Suicidal Thoughts: If you’ve ever felt like giving up or that things will never get better, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to go through it alone. I offer a non-judgmental space to talk openly about these thoughts, identify what keeps you going, and find ways to reduce pain and increase safety. Healing begins with honesty, and it’s okay to start wherever you are. Psychosis: If you are living with psychosis, it can feel confusing, isolating, or overwhelming. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences, identify triggers, and develop grounding and coping strategies that help you feel more in control of your life. My approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and restoring confidence — helping you find meaning, safety, and connection while honoring your lived experience. Professional Experience: I began my career in 2014 and have since worked in a variety of settings, including crisis services, partial hospitalization (PHP), and community mental health. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals navigating depression, anxiety, chronic illness, grief, suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, major life transitions, and much more. My work has included crisis intervention, safety planning, clinical assessment, and ongoing therapy focused on building self-compassion and resilience. These experiences have shaped my belief that growth happens when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to take life one step at a time. Next Steps: Start with free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll briefly discuss your goals, what’s bringing you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have about the process. Reach out to me via my website, email, or phone. Please allow 24-48 business hours for me to return contact to inquiries.

Most of the clients I work best with have one thing in common: they feel overwhelmed by the pressure to “have it all together,” especially around food, body image, and big life transitions. Many of them are students who look fine on the outside but are quietly struggling with anxiety, burnout, or feeling disconnected from their bodies. I often work with people who: Feel guilty or stressed about eating and don’t know how to break the cycle Overthink food choices or feel “out of control” around food Are adjusting to a big life change (moving away from home, starting college, pregnancy/postpartum, major stress) Carry a lot of self-criticism and feel exhausted from trying to meet everyone’s expectations Want a space where they can be honest without feeling judged or misunderstood My clients tend to be caring, hard-working, sensitive, and often the “strong one” in their friend group. They’re usually trying to balance school, relationships, and their own mental health—often without giving themselves the same compassion they give others. If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. My goal is to make therapy feel like a safe, steady place where you can slow down, understand what’s going on underneath the stress, and feel more connected to yourself again.

Dr. Aw's primary interest is the intersection between mental and physical health. Dr. Aw’s philosophy is that one does not exist outside the other. Furthermore, depression and anxiety in patients who are also suffering from medical issues can feel significantly worse, and it is his goal to get patients on a holistic road to recovery. An ideal patient for Dr. Aw understands that it takes a team to get them feeling better, and it is a collaboration between the patients themselves and Dr. Aw.
