Therapists for college students near Nashville, TN
My clients don't come to therapy to hear someone nod and agree with everything they say. That isn't worth their time or money. They want real help. They want to know "what to do" and "how to fix it" because they are struggling with depression, severe anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, suicidal thoughts, parenting issues, and other painful situations. They're looking for a true expert that they can actually talk to. I am a member of PSYPACT which means I can see clients in every state that is a member of PSYPACT. I'm also licensed in both TN and MA. I'm a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician and an expert in Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, self-harm, and oppositional adolescents. I am an Associate faculty member at Vanderbilt University and have served as a trainer and consultant for a variety of hospitals, schools, and the military. I founded and own PSYCHÄ“, PLLC, a private network of therapists across multiple states. Our job is to pair our clients with great clinicians all over the country. PSYCHÄ“ also offers various Standard DBT skills groups and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) skills classes online ranging from $100-$125. New members can begin right away! Visit www.psychepllc.com/groups for more information about groups, meeting times, or to enroll online. Changing people's lives for the better is my life's purpose and where I get a sense of meaning. College can be one of the most exciting—and overwhelming—seasons of life. Between academic pressure, changing friendships, family expectations, relationships, and figuring out who you are, it’s easy to feel stressed, anxious, or unsure of yourself. You don’t have to navigate that alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience supporting teens and young adults through life’s transitions. My approach is strength-based and relationship-focused, meaning I see you as more than your stress, anxiety, or struggles. Together, we’ll build on the strengths you already have while developing practical tools to help you manage overwhelming thoughts, regulate emotions, and feel more confident in your decisions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies to help you better understand your thought patterns, cope with stress, and respond to challenges in healthier ways. My style is laid back, supportive, and collaborative—I want therapy to feel like a safe space where you can be honest, ask hard questions, and explore who you’re becoming without judgment. Whether you’re feeling anxious about school, struggling with motivation, dealing with relationship conflict, navigating self-worth, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you as you build clarity, resilience, and confidence in this season of life.
I want to help you find greater joy in life. I work with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, etc. My focus is on improving mental health. My virtual office is a "judgment free zone", and I want you to feel comfortable discussing anything. Your peace of mind is crucial, and I'm here to help you find positive change. As a counselor, I always start and end with your goals in mind. I will fully accept you where you are, and I will strive to help you get to where you want to be. I have therapy tools which will assist you in clarifying confused thinking, improving relationships, and developing greater insight in order to empower the changes you want. It takes courage to seek counseling, and positive change is necessary for our health and well-being. I want to help you find greater joy and deeper satisfaction in life. If you are willing to take that step, then I am here to assist you.

There are so many things outside of our control that are inevitably difficult to cope with. My goal is to provide support to individuals, couples, and families tackling every day and life stressors with more confidence, hope, self-empowerment. I use CBT, ACT, ERP, BA, and DBT Skills to treat a variety of disorders including OCD, skin picking, hair pulling, hoarding, phobias, BDD, GAD, social anxiety, panic, depression, eating disorders, and others. I am a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) and a multi-state licensed professional counselor including Tennessee (LPC-MHSP), Kentucky (LPCC), Illinois (LCPC), Oklahoma (LPC), and FL. Hi there! We are an outpatient practice offering in-person and virtual appointments. We specialize in working with those navigating the tricky terrain of growing up—dealing with friendship shifts, school pressure, big emotions, and the journey of self-discovery. Many of the clients who find us describe themselves as high-performing yet often struggling with things such as: suspected or diagnosed ADHD, chronic anxiety, burnout, and who are seeking balance amidst life's demands. Their work often centers on identity exploration, navigating interpersonal relationships, building self-esteem, developing a more compassionate relationship with their bodies and food, and adapting to life transitions. Together, we explore how anxiety shows up, how boundaries can feel empowering, and what it looks like to build relationships (with yourself and others) that feel safe, reciprocal, and genuine. Wherever you are in your life journey, we are here to come along side you and support you in the next steps. We truly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. We encourage you to reach out for a consultation call to determine how we can best support you and answer any questions you might have about the therapy process.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Tennessee and California, and I provide therapy virtually to students in both states. I work with people who are dealing with things like stress, difficult transitions and circumstances, traumatic events, relationship problems, grief, discrimination, and systemic marginalization. I specialize in working with people seeking recovery from the abuse they experienced in their families, intimate relationships, workplaces, religious and faith communities, and also survivors of cults and other high-demand/control groups. Additionally, I work with those who are living with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, suicide risk, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also specialize in working with people seeking recovery from substance use, and I welcome clients who are active substance users. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a safe, affirming space for the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, disabled individuals, and other marginalized groups. Being a military spouse myself, I am honored to work with active military members, their families, and veterans. Feel free to check out my website to learn more about my experience and specialties. Those who work with me can expect to experience a safe and supportive space. My approach is very down-to-earth, and I aim to use research-backed therapy interventions in a way that’s accessible and helpful. I believe no two people need the same approach. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.

As a therapist with over a decade of experience, I recognize that taking the first step toward seeking therapy can be difficult, which is why I want to help clients feel comfortable discussing some of life's most challenging topics. As I near the end of my education in Counseling Psychology, I have honed my experience in trauma-informed care. I have experience in working with individuals across the lifespan, but have focused my recent work with adults aged 18+ with extensive trauma and anxiety. I balance empathy with honesty to help clients feel validated, yet challenged. I believe you are the expert on your own life. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can explore your experiences and goals to create the life you want for yourself. I always start with an introductory session where we will spend the time discussing the challenges that brought you here, outlining your goals, and ensuring my approach aligns with your needs. Along with the initial logistics and administrative details, I will ask questions about your background, previous experiences, and what is currently bringing you distress. You set the pace: you only need to share what you are comfortable with. More importantly, it is equally important that you interview me. You have the floor to ask about my methods or background to ensure we are a great fit.

I also offer a faith-friendly approach for those who seek spiritual integration in their healing journey. Many of the students I work with are navigating a lot internally—stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling unsure about their path. You might find yourself overthinking, putting pressure on yourself to have everything figured out, or struggling in relationships while trying to balance it all. You may look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but feel overwhelmed or stuck underneath. You don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re open to growing, gaining clarity, and building a stronger relationship with yourself, we’d likely work well together.
