Often individuals struggle with a multitude of overwhelming issues. We focus to assist you in resolving the issues that bring you to counseling and to help you reestablish your life. Individual therapy is tailored to your needs as determined by you and your therapist. This is done by utilizing an integrative approach so we can help you overcome and manage significant life problems in a way that works for you. How can we help you resolve difficulties or transitions that you're struggling with?
I provide experienced, thoughtful care to young adults and college students navigating a wide range of challenges. Whether you’re feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply seeking clarity and direction, therapy can help you better understand yourself, shift unhelpful patterns, and create meaningful change. My approach is holistic, warm, and relational. I work collaboratively with each client to uncover the underlying forces shaping their current concerns, helping them identify choice points and reconnect with their strengths. While I work with a wide range of presenting issues, I have a special focus on treating trauma in its many forms. I am especially committed to providing safe, affirming, and effective care for survivors of sexual abuse and assault, and for those carrying the long shadows of past experiences. Regardless of the content, I approach every session with cultural humility, clinical attunement, and deep respect for each client’s lived experience. Therapy is your time—for insight, healing, growth, or simply space to breathe and think. A strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this work, and I invest fully in building that alliance with every client I meet. I provide services to people with a broad spectrum of problems. My areas of specialty are trauma, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, or long-term ways of relating to self and others that do not seem to be working well.
My therapeutic approach is relational, solution-focused, multiculturally informed, and evidence-based. I believe that cultivating a nurturing, nonjudgmental environment is the foundation for therapeutic outcomes. With a CBT- and DBT- informed approach, my clients utilize therapy to explore long-standing problems, navigate current stressors, and work on more effective ways to manage mental health symptoms. I strive to help my clients build a life that feels meaningful and rewarding, where they feel more at ease and more successful in various areas (and various stages). I specifically have experience working with teens and young adults with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and self-harm. Currently seeing client through the group practice: PKO Counseling Services

Current openings for new clients are available as of 9/1/2021. Throughout our lives, experiences we have can lead us to feel disconnected in various ways, from our own sense of self and values, important people in our life, and our emotions. This disconnection can result in feelings of loneliness and isolation, lack of motivation, overwhelming anxiety, or uncertainty about who we are and what we want in life and it often leads to unhealthy ways of coping (e.g., emotional eating, focusing too much on work, lack of self-care, etc.). My focus in working with clients is to help them reconnect with themselves, with others, and with their emotions so that they can lead a more satisfying life filled with meaningful relationships and purpose. My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in a modern psychodynamic orientation. As such, I value the development of a strong therapeutic relationship and meaningful connection with clients. Together, we work on understanding unhealthy patterns and improve ability to cope with distress, manage multiple life roles, live a more balanced life, and connect more fully with emotions. I am especially passionate about working with college-aged students and athletes who may be experiencing eating and/or body image concerns, as well as issues related to men and masculinity. . I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Penn State University and completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Penn State University.
I treat each client as a unique individual, ensuring you feel heard and validated as we work to uncover the roots of your challenges. Together, we’ll forge a path toward change and healing. I believe therapy is for everyone and can help you discover the happiness and peace that might be missing from your life. Outside of work, I love to travel, explore new places, and spend as much time outdoors as possible. I enjoy quality time with my family, friends, and my beloved cat and dog. Most of all, I cherish being surrounded by people who make me smile and laugh. My sessions are centered around providing clients with a warm, safe, and comfortable environment where they can confidently express themselves. I support clients who are experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and low self-esteem; helping them to build emotional resilience and achieve their goals.
