Accepting NEW individuals! Hello and welcome! I practice with the belief that YOU are the expert of your own life and the person who knows what is best for you. That said, sometimes we all get a little stuck along the way. Since you're here, you (or a loved one) are likely contemplating making some positive changes and could benefit from some help and guidance. Whether you are challenged with anxiety, depression, PTSD, past trauma, or something else, I believe we can work together to reduce symptoms and improve your quality of life. My sessions are goal oriented and future focused, guided by you, working at a comfortable pace. Treatment techniques include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). LGBTQIA+ community welcome, working knowledge of most religions/spiritualities, willing to discuss upon request. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Tele-mental Health Professional. Almost a decade in crisis work and community mental health has honored me with the opportunity to share in the lives and stories of so many people. I bring that with me to my work and look forward to sharing in your journey as well. Please reach out for a free consultation to explore if us working together would be a good match. Call me and let's talk more!

This experience informs my practice with students. I have helped athletes through every possible problem students can encounter. I use a trauma informed lens, since we all experience trauma, and that trauma, sometimes informs our reality and our core beliefs. I use a psychodynamic approach, and help individuals understand why they believe and act the way they do.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is what is most important in the therapeutic process. Feeling safe and comfortable is what will allow you to challenge yourself to be vulnerable. Building trust together is what makes the works we will do transformative. My 19 years of work experience thus far has prepared me in various ways to be a support to others. Most recently, I have worked directly with the college student population at a local university. My efforts with college-age students have reminded me just how difficult the transition between high school and the world, between youth and adulthood, can be. Navigating those decisions, molding a new identity, and learning about responsibility: these challenges require empathy and encouragement. My focus is a time limited therapy—understanding the root of the issues occurring and offering tools and support to ultimately make myself obsolete. I work out of an emotion focused lens, offering EMDR to manage and treat those destructive, rooted themes that arise in one’s life. I believe in the work I do. I believe change is possible because I have seen it, and I have lived it. There is nothing more exciting for me than to witness another’s curative process. Congratulations on taking this step towards joy and serenity, towards a more conscious, self-assured way of living.

Do you dread the 5:00 am clang of your alarm? Do you hit snooze one too many times and now have to scramble to get to class on time, chugging caffeine, just trying to make it through the day? You spend the evenings checked out, on the couch, mindlessly scrolling your phone, while the tv drones on in the background. You know there is more to life than this. You know there is a way to get good sleep, not survive on caffeine, and actually enjoy your evenings. Sometimes we just need a little support to get there. It’s okay to need a little help figuring out what is underneath the stress and get back to living a life you don’t want to escape. Let’s talk about how you can move from dread to joy. Contact me.

Everyone has a unique story. Feeling safe and comfortable in therapy to share your thoughts, feelings, and questions is essential to the therapeutic process. I understand that the decision to choose a therapist can be a daunting task and the first step into treatment requires a lot of courage. For the past 20 years I have specialized in working with people who have been impacted by complex trauma and loss. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, distorted self-image, and a sense of disconnect with self, their environment, and others are often the byproducts of trauma that I see my clients experiencing. Within my practice, I focus on creating an environment in which everyone feels safe, accepted, and empowered to explore and express what they want to express and how they feel comfortable expressing it. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I consider myself an eclectic therapist who is client-focused, strength-based, and humanistic. I utilize aspects of Gestalt and Mindfulness in my treatment.

Welcome! I'm Joanna. I work with adolescents (16+) & adults, most frequently young adults. I particularly enjoy working with transitional issues - changes in school, jobs, family, relationships, identity, etc. Often, my clients are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and/or interpersonal conflict. I value working with folks with a range of backgrounds, races, faiths, genders, sexualities, and lifestyles. My work sees people through a systems lens, recognizes the oppressive barriers to mental wellness, and encourages reflection on cultural impact. My ideal client is open minded, patient, and motivated for change. I value flexibility in the therapeutic relationship and use a person-centered approach, whether that's structured skill building or an empathetic ear. I work mostly from an ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) framework, but also incorporate elements of CBT, DBT, and interpersonal therapy. I am not a true "blank slate" - healing comes from connections! I'm glad to have you here - it shows you've taken a huge first step towards healing, processing, and growth, and I'm honored to support you. Shoot me a message to get connected (note: telehealth only)! The extras: I am a cancer sun ISFJ, and I enjoy making pottery, reading fiction, going for walks/hikes, and watching reality TV with my dog.

Holiday Blues? Struggles with navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, stress, and self-esteem? I offer a supportive space where you can explore what’s weighing on you and begin to move toward healing and balance. My approach is person-centered and tailored to your needs. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to help. I draw from a range of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, strengths-based strategies, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and EMDR. In our first few sessions, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy—your story. I focus on building trust and rapport from the start because I know opening up can feel intimidating. Together, we’ll identify goals and create a treatment plan that feels right for you. Clients often tell me they appreciate the calm, welcoming environment I create. We’ll work at your pace, and you’ll never be pushed to go faster than you’re ready for. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or depression, I’m glad you’re here seeking support. Rather than focusing on happiness as a fixed goal, I help clients explore what fulfillment means in the context of their lives. Fulfillment allows space for the full range of emotional experiences supports a more honest, grounded way of engaging with yourself and the world. ClinicalApproach I bring a systems-oriented lens to our work together, considering how our early relationships and life experiences shape our current sense of self, the way we connect with others, and how we move through the world. My integrative approach draws from several evidence-based modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) But above all, I'm client-centered. I've seen what happens when therapy gets too rigid or robotic, when the humanity of it gets lost. That’s not what you’ll get with me. I’ll use evidence-based methods and also meet you with honesty, care, and a good sense of when to push and when to pause.
