Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Welcome! I consider counseling a creative space in which you and I collaborate to understand your interpersonal patterns, explore your emotions, build an individualized set of coping skills, and create accountability for working toward your goals. I specialize in treatment for adults, and I work with individuals and couples to understand the roots of your current distress, target issues that are causing daily problems, build self-compassion, and develop evidence-based strategies for ongoing management of symptoms. I work well with individuals and couples who are ready to make and change and motivated for therapy. I am an integrative therapist, meaning I use tools and frameworks from various approaches to counseling based on your unique needs, identities, and lived experiences. My doctoral-level training has supported me in understanding current research to provide you evidence-based interventions in addition to a warm and supportive space to process. I also offer psychodiagnostic assessment, including testing for mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and general IQ testing. Please feel free to reach out for more details. Whether for counseling or assessment, I look forward to collaborating with you on your goals!

Hello! I am a therapist in private practice offering 1:1 therapy via telehealth and in person. I have worked at several college counseling centers (Lewis & Clark, Reed College, etc.) and understand the various dynamics of being a student. My initial focus is to foster an environment to provide some relief from the pressing issues you currently face while also providing room to explore larger contributing factors such as interpersonal struggles, societal pressures, unhealthy family patterns and problematic institutional structures. I am committed to provide culturally responsive treatment. My style is friendly, attentive and challenging. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out and we can set up an initial appointment to see if I am a good match for what you are looing for in a therapist.

Whether you are facing significant life transitions, relational conflict, lost sense of self or wishing to expand your emotional awareness - My hope is to provide a therapeutic space that empowers you to reconnect with your own innate resiliency. In therapy, I often incorporate mindfulness techniques and parts of self work to help clients foster the connection between their mind and body to facilitate healing. I believe that through deeper understanding comes greater self-awareness and the ability to identify your truest needs, wants, wishes, desires and authentically express yourself. I recognize that you are the expert of your own life. As a trauma-informed, inclusive, and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapist, I value diversity and strive to create a safe and supporting environment where my clients feel hear and understood. I’m a licensed professional counselor working with individuals and couples. My style is laid back, collaborative, and incorporates evidence-based practices in an approach to healing, learning life skills, and self-discovery. I believe this leads us to live healthy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. Working with both individuals and couples, my expertise lies in anxiety, divorce and relationship issues as well as working with those going through life transitions or interested in personal or professional growth. There are times in all of our lives where we are faced with a crisis of emotional, mental or spiritual unease and I believe we all have the capacity for healing and self-growth. When we find ourselves at these crossroads finding support in a safe and non-judgmental environment can be of great help. Wherever you are in your personal journey I understand it takes courage to reach out and I feel privileged and humbled to walk with you through that transition. My philosophy encompasses elements of both Gestalt and Existentialism and I seek to connect all facets of a person’s world (the family they grew up in, their gender, faith, culture, education, age, etc.) as I believe that each person has inherent worth and the capacity to grow toward personal fulfillment.
If you are struggling to get through the day and need support, you're in the right place. Anxiety and depression can seem like the only voice of reason at times, and therapy is a great way to help sort through these confusing and distressing emotions. Understanding that change takes time and can be difficult is one of my core values as a person-centered therapist. I'm passionate about working with people from multicultural backgrounds, as well as those in the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I became a therapist because I enjoy helping people realize their true potential, and believe in the therapeutic process as a way to reach that. When outside of the office, I enjoy being outdoors and connecting with nature. I love to hike, ski, and go camping with my friends and family. Music is a big part of my life, and I enjoy playing the Ukulele. Life can be extremely difficult, and reaching out for help is the first step to healing. It's hard to go through symptoms alone. I'm currently taking on new clients ages 11 and up, both in person and via Telehealth.

Our lived experiences shape the world around us and how we interact with it. Therefore, I believe understanding someone’s story is instrumental in any therapeutic process. Therapy is meant to help someone heal, build skills, break out of patterns, and gain further insights into oneself. It’s an investment in yourself so that you can have a future not burdened in anguish. As someone who identifies as multiracial, I have firsthand knowledge about the intersectionality of race and culture. I honor each person in front of me and foster a space that is safe where healing can take place. I use a strengths-based approach and pull from different evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, and CPS. Treatment is individualized for the person, not to fit in a box. I have several years working as a clinician within a variety of health care settings with the most recent being with adolescents and adults in acute care settings. In addition, I have experience working with first responders and healthcare professionals.
