Life can feel overwhelming and confusing when we are met with expectations that do not align with our authentic self. I believe positive and effective change can happen once we become more confident and empowered within ourselves. I work with individuals to feel confident to make effective change within their life in order meet their personal and therapeutic goals. I primarily work individuals with disrupted attachments related to childhood trauma, and sexual trauma; in addition to PTSD, depression, anxiety, and OCD (specifically related to Relationships, Contamination, Perfectionism, and Health).

If you’re looking to have the space to explore issues and experiences that have impacted your life, I may be a good fit for you! I work with individuals struggling to navigate mood disorders, anxiety, history of trauma, and interpersonal distress. Additionally, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have first-hand experience with the challenges and fears that come with developing, growing, and accepting your identity. I believe healing can happen through processing your experiences and receiving empathy, support, and honest feedback. My approach to therapy includes using skills from CBT, DBT, and CPT to help understand and change thoughts and behaviors. Together we will work to create a deeper understanding of unhelpful patterns that may be present in your life. I will aim to gently push you out of your comfort zone in order to avoid repeating these patterns. Finding the right therapist for you can be difficult and take time. If you think I may be able to help, please reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. During that call we can address your questions, goals, and our compatibility. If we determine we are a good fit together, I’d be happy to schedule an appointment!

Life can sneak up on us without warning and emotional stressors impact all individuals without discrimination. Many times people turn to ineffective coping strategies as a means of escaping emotional pain. I believe that the most successful path to healing is one that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms. I understand that addiction, depression, anxiety, and stress can affect every aspect of your life. It is my hope that, together, we can develop healthier skills to overcome whatever barriers you may be experiencing to physical, mental, and emotional wellness. I use an eclectic treatment approach consisting of evidence-based practices, tailored to your individual needs in order to achieve the quality of life you desire. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT). I graduated from St. John Fisher College with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and went on to get my License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC). I am also a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). I have worked in a number of outpatient settings and have specialized in treating adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders since 2010. If you feel that you are ready to make positive changes in your life, I encourage you to take that first step on your journey to healing. Let our work together help transform you into the best version of yourself. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Whether you’re healing from family rejection, seeking to improve communication, or striving to build resilience, I’m committed to helping you foster healing and deeper connections. My therapeutic approach integrates models like Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, which enable me to address relational dynamics, empower clients to reshape their narratives and provide an affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals and families. If balancing academic/work pressure and your personal life is leaving you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, I am here to help. Many clients I work with enter therapy feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or pushing themselves at the expense of their well-being. Perfectionism and self-criticism often make it even harder to slow down or feel satisfied. I specialize in therapy with college/graduate students and young professionals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, early career stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I also work with survivors of sexual trauma and individuals who want to better understand how past experiences continue to shape their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and values-focused. After working together, my clients often have greater self-confidence, increased insight into how past experiences shape current patterns, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based behavioral approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, along with emotion-focused, self-compassion, and strengths-based perspectives. We'll explore practical tools to move forward from unhelpful patterns so that you can live more authentically. I am here to support you in understanding yourself with greater insight and compassion, easing anxiety’s influence on your wellbeing, and building a life that reflects your values rather than fear or pressure. I offer telehealth therapy for busy academic and professional lives. If this sounds like you, I invite you to explore my website and reach out for a consultation. I see clients in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Colorado. I am also PSYPACT authorized to see clients in 40 additional states. *Note: I am in-network with several insurances in Massachusetts and Colorado, and I am out-of-network in New York, New Hampshire, and in PSYPACT states. I provide a superbill for my clients to request reimbursement from their insurance. Please reach out with any questions; I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

We may have all asked ourselves at one time or another..."How did I (or we) get here?" During these times, talking to someone who understands helps. I have helped many college students/young adults with adjusting to college life, academic stressors and relationship difficulties. I am skilled in helping students manage anxiety and depression. I believe that understanding you and the reasons you are seeking counseling as essential to our work together. We will employ practical strategies you can utilize outside of the office. Students will often ask me, "what is my homework?" It will feel empowering to work on your goals both in and outside of therapy.
