Finding a therapist who helps you feel safe, supported and challenged is central to this process. Our diverse team of skilled therapists provide services to individuals, couples, families and groups. The enormous number of stressors we face daily are intense these days: the climate, global unrest and politics, the economy, overwork, isolation, disconnection. All of this is tremendously difficult to manage alone. Anxiety, anger, depression, resentment, boredom; sadness, rage, exhaustion, denial. If you're struggling with any of this -- or any other states that often bring people to therapy, like feeling lost or overwhelmed, relationship issues, lack of direction, emptiness, grief -- it's worth investing the time and effort to get help, get grounded, and find a better path forward. I offer both in-person & remote therapy. If you're suffering, struggling, having difficulty focusing or functioning, you may really benefit from talking with an empathic and skilled therapist (with room for humor). Life is a lot to handle on one's own. If you've ever considered trying to better understand things about your life, the first phone call awaits. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy offers deep empathic understanding and useful insights that can be grounding and freeing. Therapy expands your capacities and coping strategies while helping you understand yourself & loved ones better. Significant change takes time, but often real relief is experienced just by starting the process. Are you ready to begin?
My areas of focus include mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma and PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. I have experience treating OCD using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I provide psychoeducation and appropriate treatment options for trauma and PTSD, and I evaluate patients for borderline personality disorder, especially those with a history of multiple medication trials. I empower my patients by teaching them dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to help them manage their symptoms and gain insight into how their life experiences affect their current emotions. I'm passionate about educating patients on the importance of validating their emotional experiences, whether they are feelings of happiness, sadness, anger, or anxiety. I also reinforce the importance of nutrition and sleep in treating mental health conditions. I collaborate with my patients by listening with curiosity and regularly asking for feedback on how I can best assist them, whether through practicing skills or helping them build insight. I create a judgment-free space where all emotions are valid and informative, while teaching that reactions can be adjusted to align with personal values.

As a therapist, I believe that you have the capacity to find your way back to yourself. With a long background in the field of dance and training in somatic therapies, I see the body as a powerful window to our feelings and the place where healing really happens. I also know the body can be the site of a lot of wounds, judgements, and shame, making it hard to access. I’m here to help you hold the painful parts so that your natural ability to heal can emerge. Using a combination of somatic, psychodynamic and behavioral approaches I will help you build the self-awareness and compassion needed to feel more at home in yourself.
I have worked at different university counseling centers in the past, including California College of the Arts, Barnard College, Columbia University, the Graduate Center of CUNY, and last in the role of assistant director of the counseling center at Fordham University. I have been in private practice for 20 years now, where I see many undergraduate and graduate students. The goal of my work with you is to help you make your life more fulfilling. Good psychotherapy will alleviate your personal suffering, and make you more resourceful emotionally and practically. It will strengthen your capacity to negotiate relationships, to love, and feel more alive and connected. I respect your intelligence, and aim for us to be collaborators in the process of psychotherapy. I listen closely to you and share my questions and observations with you. I am a psychoanalyst certified by NYU, where I received four awards. I completed advanced training in couple's therapy (White Institute). I published a book entitled "Immigration in Psychoanalysis," give talks, supervise and teach. Areas of specialty are: Our relationship to ourselves and others. When you’re ready to seek support, I am here to help you take the first step. As a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) with an eclectic approach, I work with emerging adults, bicultural individuals, and those dealing with life transitions navigate stress and anxiety, self-esteem issues, identity issues, academic struggles, relationship problems, and making sense of past experiences. I aim to create space for you to process emotions and thoughts about past experiences and take away core strengths and values that empower you in your future life. My approach starts with collaboration and pulls from a relationship of mutual respect and trust to engender your lasting growth and self-discovery. In our time together, you can expect a dynamic and non-judgmental environment where we change approaches to fit your needs and work to get closer to emotional truths. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic modalities, and other therapeutic approaches to help you get to the roots of your beliefs and behaviors. At all times, I believe in honesty and transparency, helping me to connect warmly and be present to you. I look forward to helping you find acceptance and balance throughout our sessions. My experience as a bicultural person navigating corporate and academic spaces drove me to become a therapist who helps individuals understand their values and identities separate from judgements of those around them. After witnessing members of my community become increasingly disconnected from themselves, I became deeply committed to providing a validating and respectful processing space on the road to each person's journey of self-actualization. When I’m not working, I love indulging in my hobbies – getting lost in a good book, playing board games, and exploring new cuisines!

If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, you're not alone. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I offer a safe and confidential space to explore these challenges and uncover the underlying patterns that may be impacting your well-being. Together, we can delve into your past experiences, understand your current emotional landscape, and build the resilience needed to thrive during this pivotal time in your life.
Many of the students I work with seem like they have everything together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are. You may be high-achieving, creative, or thoughtful, yet constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, struggling with perfectionism, or trying to meet expectations that never fully feel like enough. Over time, it can become exhausting to keep pushing through while quietly carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, or self-doubt on your own. In our work together, we slow things down and explore what’s driving that pressure beneath the surface. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with your own voice, values, identity, and sense of direction so life begins to feel more grounded, authentic, and emotionally sustainable — not something you constantly have to perform your way through.
