Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
I help adults in all phases of life. I help my clients work through new and past traumas, and through typical or unexpected life transitions. In therapy we can make meaning, find purpose, or forge new paths. Many clients come for help managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, or addictions. If you need help but don't know what questions to ask, that's okay! You don't have to know exactly what's wrong or what you want. Finding out is part of the process! Therapy can be to heal, recover, sort through, reconnect, rejuvenate, strengthen, or change aspects of your life to make it more manageable & meaningful. I primarily work with college-age students as they navigate this transitional time in their lives. I currently have early and late evening appointments as well as Saturdays 10-1.
Hey there! You might be here because you or your teen are facing a major transition and feeling unsure how to navigate it with confidence. I work with college-bound teens, parents supporting this transition, and young adults or professionals finding their footing. Often, there’s anxiety, pressure to get things “right,” and self-doubt beneath the surface. Clients want clarity, balance, and tools to manage stress while building trust in themselves. Together, we focus on feeling more grounded, capable, and supported through change—so you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Oakley, my Therapy Dog can help too! I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Life Coach with over 20 years of experience supporting college-bound teens, parents, and young adults. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, and confidence-building, helping clients develop practical tools, clarity, and resilience during pivotal stages of life. Big transitions can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying pressure, self-doubt, or uncertainty about what’s next. Therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and regain confidence. You don’t have to navigate this season alone—and support can make all the difference.

My goal is to help you feel less stuck by providing collaborative, direct support focused on problem-solving and implementing lasting solutions. I believe therapy should help you gain insight into who you are at your core while also building the tools you need to face challenges with confidence. In our sessions, you’ll find a warm inviting space where I’ll be honest and hold you accountable to your goals. I aim to cultivate a healthy sense of challenge that encourages you to work toward meaningful change. My hope is that you’ll feel grounded and supported as we tackle life’s difficulties together.

The clients I work with are often creative, sensitive people-pleasers who are feeling overwhelmed and alone. They’re struggling with their relationships and figuring out who they are and where they fit. Life is exhausting, as they second-guess every word that comes out of their mouth. The noise of everyone else’s expectations makes it impossible to sort out what they really want. With a compassionate and playful approach, we will break down your fears while uncovering what gives you strength, what lights you up, and what helps you feel confident.

Healing doesn’t have to feel so heavy all the time. Life can be tough, but your therapy journey doesn't have to be. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just trying to understand what on earth is going on, I’m here to help with compassion, curiosity, and (yes!) even a dash of humor. My goal is to help you feel heard, empowered, and equipped with the tools to create a life you truly enjoy. Along the way, we’ll celebrate the small wins, unpack the big stuff, and maybe even laugh a little. Growth is serious work, but it doesn’t have to feel that way the entire time.

I have over 25 years experience working with teenagers and adults. I understand the social, behavioral, and academic challenges clients face, not only with the pandemic, but with social media, peer pressure, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, decision making, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I provide cognitive behavior therapy, which is to help clients understand why they are thinking and behaving the way they are and to help them understand that in order to change for the long term, they need to first understand what is causing the problem. I help clients develop coping skills and self-care strategies for in the moment and every day use.
Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. Hello, I am an emotionally focused therapist interested in helping people improve their view of self and other, and to get more joy out of their relationships. I have a particular interest in working with couples and healing childhood trauma. Between the ages of 18-22, many people enter a pivotal period of independence and self-exploration. It is often a time when young adults begin to reflect on their childhood and family relationships with greater depth, clarity, and emotional awareness. How these relationships are processed can have lifelong impact. I can help support this reflective process so that it leads to healing, growth, and a stronger sense of self.
