I've been working in the field for almost 20 years. I specialize in working with teens/young adults. Some of my focuses include issues around anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning/school difficulties, school stressors in general, LGBTQIA+, relationship/family issues, and life transitions. I want to help my clients feel empowered to live with more peace, health and confidence. I use various modalities, depending on what the client needs, to help individuals explore feelings, identify helpful coping skills and ultimately reach their goals. Often, I see clients who need help understanding patterns of behavior that have caused distress, and it is through self-awareness and support that positive change can start to occur. I am focused on developing a trusted therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect. I am down to earth and easy to talk to. I strive to create the space for clients to explore their strengths and challenges in a supportive, nonjudgemental way. It is important to have an unbiased person support you through life's ups and downs.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over fifteen years of working with individuals, groups, and families. During our time together, I hope to provide an environment for you to revive your joy, feel whole versus disjointed, and seek to create a balance between challenge and kindness for yourself. MindSight Counseling, PLLC is a private therapy practice that I founded in 2023 treating individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. MindSight's mission is to help people to form healing relationships with themselves and others by establishing a common understanding of the language of emotion and human experience.
As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.
Hi, thanks so much for taking an interest in my practice. It takes great courage and awareness to come to the decision to reach out for support. I see clients in my office in Cambridge, MA, near Davis Square, and in Melrose, MA, as well as by teletherapy/videochat. I specialize in helping people to free themselves from the 'silent conversation' that we have with ourselves throughout the day. By understanding how this conversation influences our thoughts, feelings, and actions, it is possible to adapt it to feel more empowered in life. It is my hope that your therapy experience will feel comforting, meaningful, real, and effective in getting to the heart of your core concerns. I work from an integrative framework in a warm and interactive environment, drawing from holistic, cognitive, and psychodynamic influences to help people to reclaim a sense of choice and authorship in their lives. My background includes more than 25 years in clinical healthcare, school, and community settings working therapeutically with individuals, couples, and groups on a wide-range of issues causing acute and chronic distress. Do you find yourself stuck or pained in relationships - with yourself, others, the world, or your past? The struggle may show up as loneliness, emptiness, maladaptive interpersonal patterns, or as symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, disordered eating etc. I strive to create trust in a nonjudgmental and authentic atmosphere, from where we work together to understand and help resolve your struggles. My style in session is warm, collaborative, and actively engaged. I'm not a passive listener who nods along silently—I'm present with you, noticing what's happening in the room, gently drawing attention to patterns, emotions, and moments that matter, including the ones you might be inclined to gloss over. Sometimes our work is more experiential—slowing down to sit with what's emerging rather than rushing past it. Other times it's more practical and action-oriented—working on concrete strategies, trying new behaviors, or building skills you can use between sessions. I blend insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, and emotion-focused approaches in individualized ways that fit who you are and what you're working through. I bring extensive experience across college counseling centers and mental health clinics, having most recently served as a staff psychologist at Harvard University Health Services, and previously at Case Western Reserve University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Northwestern University (where I completed my postdoctoral fellowship). I am now in full-time private practice. I'm also the Chinese translator of Irvin Yalom's Existential Psychotherapy and The Gift of Therapy, and serve on the Expert Committee at Jiandanxinli (简单心理), the largest therapist platform in China.
I specialize in substance use disorders and addiction but can help anyone looking to address their relationship with substances, even if you don't think your problem is serious. I also can help with other impulse or compulsive issues such as gaming or internet addiction disorders. I use a Harm Reduction approach, meaning I don't think abstinence from use is the right answer for everyone, and can help identify what skills you need to make the changes you'd like to make. I'm also a trained trauma therapist and have worked with a wide range of clients on addressing numerous types of trauma including combat-related and sexual traumas. My office is located in Harvard Square but I can also provide virtual session (over FaceTime or VSee) for appropriate clients.

I am a licensed mental health therapist that serves Massachusetts. With extensive experience across residential, assisted living, correctional, outpatient, and other mental health care settings, she brings a holistic understanding of client needs to her practice. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal approaches in my work with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress management, and LGBTQIA+-related concerns. I am deeply passionate about healing Black and Brown communities and is committed to providing therapy for clients who share similar lived experiences. I believe that healing is more powerful when clients feel seen, understood, and heard by someone who relates to their perspective. I shows up authentically in every session, meeting clients where they are and creating a safe, affirming space for growth and change.
Balance in life can only be achieved when we start taking care of both our mental and physical health. I take an integrative approach to address clients' cognitive, emotional and physical needs. Whether that is challenging your anxious/ negative thoughts, changing disruptive relationship patterns, avoiding work burnout or taking steps towards better nutrition and physical routines, we will address the whole you each session. I have worked in the therapy field for ten years and have experience treating a variety of conditions including; anxiety, depression, life- transitions and trauma responses. I often see the medical field project a false advertisement that we can all be “fixed”. This can create a cycle of shame and discouragement when we try over and over again to find quick solutions for ourselves. I strive to challenge those inner critics and push my clients towards finding their true selves; living with self compassion and confidence. Please send an email to coordinate an initial free exploratory call. I will assess if myself or another clinician at Balanced Therapy Approach is a good fit for your current needs.
You feel trapped in thinking again and again about the same issue? You find yourself repeating same behavioral patterns? You live in self-judgment, guilt, sadness, and lack of good sleep? Does this all make you feel as you are not good enough and you should please others to be liked? And then the perceived failure as a partner, parent or a friend? Collaboratively, we can create a safe space to help you feel your feelings; increase your awareness; understand relationship patterns; and develop strategies to cope at home, work and in society. I provide individual therapy for people experiencing communication issues, anxiety, grief, school burnout, self esteem, peer relationships and women's issues. Specifically, I am interested in mindfulness, self-compassion, psychodynamic therapy, expressive arts therapy, hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral modalities (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Hello, it is great to meet you! My name is Margaret, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I began my career as a high school teacher before receiving my Master's in Social Work, and I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults in their college years. In addition to private practice work, I have spent many years working with schools and supporting adolescents, parents, and educators. I feel passionate about helping others through difficult transition periods in their lives with grounding, understanding, and tools to deal with challenges in a healthy and meaningful way. I like to collaborate with students to develop tools to manage stress or difficult life transitions, alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, or prioritize self-care. I work hard to partner with students to develop the support they need to feel more empowered and joyful and have a deeper connection to themselves and those they care about.
