Therapists for college students near Cambridge, MA
You might seem like you’re holding it all together, but inside feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Many high-achieving students carry the weight of expectations from family, culture, and society. That pressure can leave you exhausted, unsure of yourself, and out of touch with your own needs. I create space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and other historically marginalized students to slow down and be known, accepted, and supported as their full selves. I help students work through identity questions, relationship concerns, stress, burnout, imposter feelings, and the impact of trauma. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. You’ll have space to explore the deeper roots of what you're carrying while also building real-world tools to feel more grounded, empowered, and connected. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Working with me means having a steady, supportive space where you can be real, ask hard questions, and grow at your own pace. We’ll focus on what matters most to you while exploring who you are and what you need to feel more whole. I offer virtual sessions for students anywhere in Massachusetts and would be honored to support you as you move through this next chapter. I provide therapy through Intersect Clinical Services, a preferred provider for Boston-area students. We accept UHC StudentResources and Aetna Student Health with minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.

Whatever it is that has brought you here, welcome! I work with folks facing a range of issues, with a specialty in trauma, anxiety, family conflict, LGBTQIA+ identity, and relationship issues. If you experience stress from caring for/about others and our environment, I am ready to support you. I am a climate-aware therapist, meaning I recognize climate grief and eco-anxiety as legitimate responses to a global crisis and important areas of attention in therapy to help you better navigate our changing world. In therapy, I attend to ways in which the ideas, actions and policies in our communities, cultures and families can be sources of both pain and resilience. I am committed to providing queer- and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and I believe in the collaborative exploration of all intersections of identity that feel important to you. My experience informs my work. My career in international humanitarian aid and gender-based violence lends a unique perspective to trauma-informed care. Trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I bring neuroscience and the mind-body connection into therapy. Our work will explore how the body holds past experiences and how it can help you heal. I also support people in therapeutically integrating psychedelic experiences. I look forward to getting started!
Life can be exhausting, whether it's dealing with stress, anxiety, insomnia, or all of the above. I help clients manage these things so they can focus more on what’s important to them. I also work with clients on managing symptoms of ADHD, communication strategies, and balancing school-work-life.
I have 15 years of experience as an LCSW-C supporting, educating and holding emotional space for young adults and their families. I have post graduate training with a Certification in Child and Adolescent Therapy, a Certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional. I am also trained as an ADHD Coach for college students and young adults. I am a Certified Mental Coach for high school and college athletes. I work collaboratively with young adults and their families dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, family conflicts, sexuality, and childhood traumas. I partner with students and schools to support clients with ADHD and educational issues. I believe in meeting the client where they are and looking for therapeutic strategies that fit their lifestyle and background. Mental health is very personal, based on client experiences. I see therapy as a tool to help client identify strengths and teach effective coping strategies and skills they can apply to their lives now and for future struggles. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in a profession that I truly love and I consider a privilege to be invited into my clients' inner lives, and to travel this journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. I see therapy as a process of identifying strengths and struggles and teaching clients to harness their own power.

Needing space to figure out who you are & giving yourself permission to grow where you are planted is important. I assist individuals navigating issues concerning minority identity, immigrant values, parenting as a child of immigrants, cultural imposter syndrome, trauma, life transition and addressing mental health topics, including the associated shame and stigma. I have experience assisting numerous college & graduate students, including international students adjusting to life in the United States, particularly in demanding environments such as higher education. I am committed to assisting women who are considering pregnancy, managing fertility/ infertility issues, transitioning into motherhood, and dealing with domestic violence and sexual assault. I support adults dealing with relationship issues, career and life changes, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as existential crisis. I employ Eclectic therapy, which adjusts to the individual needs of each patient based on their specific issues, treatment goals, and personal expectations and motivation. I specialize in therapeutic approach that recognizes and centers on understanding various types of traumatic experiences affecting individuals. Finding a therapist can be a challenging and overwhelming process. There may be times in one’s life when we experience emotional difficulties and need professional guidance to work through these issues. We know that searching for a therapist can be one of the most difficult parts of coping, healing, and self-empowerment, because it's the first thing you must do. You must force yourself out of your comfort zone and out of whatever routine you've had before, to take the initiative and embark on a new path. When we're at our best, stepping out of our comfort zones can be daunting; when we're feeling vulnerable, it can seem nearly impossible. No matter what prompted you to take this first step, we'd like to be there for your second. Our clinicians focus on creating an empathic environment where you feel safe and relaxed, and where we can use every tool available to brighten your present and empower your future.
It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sometimes the stress associated with being in school, learning who you are, developing relationships, and generally navigating college life can lead to feelings and experiences that are very difficult to navigate alone. Even the adjustment to college can be very challenging, and sometimes old patterns that you thought you left behind can start revealing themselves again. Perhaps new patterns are concerning you. It's okay to reach out for help. Feeling better is truly possible, even when it feels like it might not be, or that you don't really need help. You don’t have to live in pain, pretend that it’s all okay, or manage alone. Together we can find a way to more ease, love, understanding, and acceptance. The journey to self-love, healing and wholeness is full of discovery, and requires a trusting, therapeutic relationship. Finding a skilled therapist, who is a good fit for you is essential. I work best with high-functioning adults and students who seem put together on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out on the inside. Many are caregivers, first-generation professionals, or cycle-breakers navigating pressure, perfectionism, family expectations, or relationship stress. They’re thoughtful and motivated for growth. They want practical tools to manage stress and set boundaries, while also understanding deeper patterns that keep them stuck. If you’re tired of just surviving and ready to feel more grounded and intentional, we’ll likely be a good fit. Therapy with me is warm, culturally responsive, and focused on helping you build skills and create real, lasting change.
