I specialize in supporting folks who are navigating the impacts of complex trauma. Complex trauma can occur as a result of violence in the home, relationships, school systems, community environments, the workplace, & systemic oppression. I take an in-depth, trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to therapy that feels accessible and relational in nature. With an in-depth approach to therapy, I strive to create a safe space for clients as they process difficult emotions, identify patterns, dismantle shame blockages, and repair intrapersonal trust. My approach to therapy works well for those who are seeking a deeper exploration of themselves and the world around them. In our first session together, you can expect me to be compassionate, curious, and highly attentive as I begin to know you at a pace that feels right for you.

As a therapist, I take a collaborative approach with patients to relieve distress, improve well-being, and develop new insights. Together, we will identify patterns in living that you want to change, and discover how prior experiences have shaped your emotional life, relationships, and behavior, perhaps in ways that are outside of your awareness. I treat patients who experience anxiety, depression, difficulties in relationships, challenges related to work and career, and stress that is related to life transitions. My approach to therapy is interactive and open-ended, with a focus on helping you to learn about yourself and to find new, more fulfilling ways of living. With all of my patients, I work to build a relationship that holds the potential for you to discover new possibilities for yourself. I seek to have a practice that is diverse with regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and ability/disability status. The process of therapy includes exploration of all aspects of identity, including how both marginalization and privilege shape experience. This exploration includes processing how identity is experienced in the therapeutic dyad, and understanding how similarities and differences between the patient and therapist shape the therapeutic process. I welcome hearing from you to discuss the possibility of setting up an initial consultation. Together, we can determine if I can meet your needs as a therapist.

Do you ever find it difficult to stand on solid ground while the world is in constant motion around you and no matter what you do, it never feels like enough? We know life’s obstacles are unlikely to go away all together, but what if you were able to navigate them from a place of curiosity and self-compassion? I offer a relaxed, trauma-informed and non-judgemental space to collaboratively expand on the strengths you already possess and shift the patterns that no longer serve you. Together we can unlock your natural potential for healing and growth, and step into your authentic self with confidence and ease. As an EMDR and dance/movement therapist, my approach is rooted in the healing power of embodiment, mindfulness, creativity and a trusted therapeutic relationship. By increasing awareness of our thoughts and physical sensations in relation to our inner and outer world, we can more readily access ways of feeling grounded and empowered in our lives. If you are interested in taking the next step toward wellbeing or to learn more about my approach, please reach out via email for an initial consultation session.

Therapy can be a great tool, regardless of what you might be going through in life. I understand that each person's story is unique and, therefore, so is his or her therapeutic experience. I am a psychotherapist and coach who will work with you to develop strategies for overcoming barriers in your life. I believe it's very important to have a good connection and rapport with your therapist. Due to this, I work to create a comfortable and safe environment to allow for progress and growth. I'm a genderqueer & neurodivergent pet parent. Also a psychologist who practices the neuroaffective relational model (NARM®) through an anti-oppressive & queer liberation lens. Hoping for a future that feels a lot less oppressive and a lot more liberating for every single one of us. Supporting those at the intersections healing from internalized shame, oppression based & complex trauma. We will hold space for the impact of oppression while also centering your hopes for yourself. Many of the queer, trans & nonbinary adults I serve also also hold lived experiences of the following: a) neurodivergence like ADHD & autism; b) body stuff such as disability, chronic pain, & chronic illness c) race & cultural backgrounds including BIPOC, 1st-2nd gen immigrants, or mixed race/light skin; & d) those in marginalized bodies who are fighting against diet culture & weight loss industrial complex in a world that pushes body size & shape modification at all turns (e.g., trans students struggling with disordered eating recovery & fat folks trying to ground in fat liberation). I am a certified NARM therapist (Neuroaffective Relational Model), as well as a certified Body Trust Provider. My approach centers radical healing through an anti oppressive lens, cultivating shame resilience and self compassion. This includes exploring identity and navigating those 'not good enough' or 'too much' experiences that tend to trigger shame. Clinical 1:1 services via telehealth only for adults located in MA and RI, as well as telehealth in PsyPACT locations (e.g., CO, WA, IL, MD, VT, DC, MN, & CT). Only see 5-12 clients weekly. Though not a specialty, I occasionally support families, couples, and polycules. Limited availability for Tufts University Student Health Plan (UHCSR carveout). Others tend to use their out of network outpatient mental health insurance benefits for partial reimbursement. Check website to view up to date availability & complete inquiry form (website address /inquiry) - Body Trust™ provider = Anti Diet, Fat Positive, HAES informed. Esp for those healing from the harms of weight loss & diet industrial complexes. - NARM = NeuroAffective Relational Model (website /NARM) - Anti G3nocide here & abroad. - Quarterly newsletter announces openings, offerings, & trans-focused liberation (website /newsletter) Note: I also offer non-clinical & professional services for those in any location including virtual community spaces, workshops, coaching, consultation, training, and supervision.

Searching for the right therapist can be stressful, but seeking guidance from a licensed professional is a wonderful way of gaining coping skills and a different perspective to challenging issues. My practice is dedicated to the psychological, emotional, and spiritual well- being of age 18+ adolescents, young adults, and adults. Individual and family therapy are offered in a nonjudgmental and professional atmosphere. I specialize in working with adoptees as well as families who have adopted or are adopting. Culture, religious/spiritual beliefs, and family structure are taken into consideration. My extensive experience with adoption provides a clear understanding of the array of issues that can manifest. Treatment is also available for non-adoption related matters. Goal-oriented treatment is offered in a supportive, encouraging, and comforting environment, tailored to the needs of each client. My use of empathy, clinical skills, and humor will help you obtain insight, clarity, and courage in order to become your most authentic self. If this approach matches your needs, please contact me for more information.

During my career of being a therapist for over a decade, I have found that the working relationship is pivotal for any change to happen in therapy. I take great care to foster a sense of emotional safety so exploration, processing, and developing new understandings and patterns of interaction with one’s self, others, and the world may take place. I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate university students, young adults, and working professionals who experience difficulties with general distress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and ADHD. By using elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, contemporary psychodynamic therapy, and emotional focused therapy I ally with people to aid them in learning more about themselves while dislodging obstacles that may be present in their lives and relationships. I am passionate about helping people who are currently feeling like they are struggling in their lives and working with them to achieve what they envision their life to be through either weekly individual or couple therapy sessions. If you desire to see lasting changes in your work, life, and your relationships, I encourage you to reach out to me, so we can talk more about what you are trying to achieve through therapy.

My clients don't come to therapy to hear someone nod and agree with everything they say. That isn't worth their time or money. They want real help. They want to know "what to do" and "how to fix it" because they are struggling with depression, severe anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, suicidal thoughts, parenting issues, and other painful situations. They're looking for a true expert that they can actually talk to. I am a member of PSYPACT which means I can see clients in every state that is a member of PSYPACT. I'm also licensed in both TN and MA. I'm a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician and an expert in Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, self-harm, and oppositional adolescents. I am an Associate faculty member at Vanderbilt University and have served as a trainer and consultant for a variety of hospitals, schools, and the military. I founded and own PSYCHē, PLLC, a private network of therapists across multiple states. Our job is to pair our clients with great clinicians all over the country. PSYCHē also offers various Standard DBT skills groups and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) skills classes online ranging from $100-$125. New members can begin right away! Visit www.psychepllc.com/groups for more information about groups, meeting times, or to enroll online. Changing people's lives for the better is my life's purpose and where I get a sense of meaning. I love my job :) I look forward to meeting you.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Kathleen McGah and I offer a comfortable, confidential space for teens, college-age students and young adults to talk about whatever is on their mind, at one's own pace, and without judgment. When people have a safe place to practice putting thoughts and feelings into words, they find they grow psychologically stronger over time - and more satisfied with various aspects of life. I have worked with many students who, initially, have been hesitant to talk with a professional. (Even if one has had a counseling experience in the past, it can still be difficult to start with a new therapist.) It makes sense if you have some hesitation about taking this step. Only you will know if you are ready. If you have been struggling and think it would be good to meet with a therapist, though, please reach out.

I believe that therapy can be a space to feel understood and challenged, find relief, reflect, and grow—in yourself, your relationships, and your world. And I believe that making the decision to seek therapy is an honest and brave one. ABOUT THERAPY WITH ME I am so glad you’ve landed here and I hope to support you on this path. I welcome college students, graduate students, and young adults of all identities for both short- and long-term therapy. These unique and complex life stages are times of significant development, change, and often uncertainty. I offer therapy that is tailored to your specific needs. I attend to immediate concerns and make space for greater understanding of your identities, sense of self, relationships, exposures to trauma and oppression, and early experiences. Above all, I think of therapy as a relationship and a collaboration: Together, we recognize where you struggle and where you shine, understand what you seek, develop awareness, access feelings, and explore new ways of relating and connecting. Patients find that I am active in our work together, and that I blend exploration of emotions and insights with warmth, curiosity, and humor. I currently offer weekday morning and early afternoon appointments online. I expect to offer in-person in Cambridge, MA later in 2025. ABOUT ME I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University and a Master in City Planning from MIT. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School and my post-doctoral fellowship at Boston College University Counseling Services. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International. I work in both English and Spanish. I'm a white, cisgender woman of Greek, Eastern European, and English descent, and I think about the kinds of power I do and don't hold in different spaces. I also think about how the intersecting layers of our identities, and of our personal and ancestral histories, are inextricably linked to who we are and what we bring to therapy. To all my work, I bring an understanding of my own identities and histories, and a deep respect for the transformative power of vulnerability, interdependency, and movements for racial, economic, and social justice.
