Struggling with difficult obstacles, past or present, can affect multiple areas of your life. You may have gone to therapy before and are ready for an approach that is more actionable or you feel curious to see what therapy can do for you. I would love the opportunity to be a partner in the journey ahead. My focus is helping people learn skills they can practice or process difficult emotions in order to better manage mood, cope with trauma or navigate life transitions. I look forward to chatting with you.
I believe that one of the most healing aspects of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client which is one intended to be that of a traveling companion rather than an "expert"-"advice receiver" relationship. This is why I tend to pay special attention to the formation of that relationship in order to help others explore what matters to them and engage in those values in the face of mental health barriers. I have been able to work with individuals that find themselves struggling with lasting impacts of trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, and life transitions.

I am so glad you are here. I am Angelica (she/her/hers), and I am a clinical social worker, who is a recovering people pleaser. I cant deny a cozy coffee shop and a decadent pastry. I am an excellent listener who can appreciate the uncomfortable silence, because that is where I find the most growth occurs. I work with students who have struggled to meet their own emotional needs. They are trying to relearn the balance of being a student, friend, and figuring out life’s next step. The ones who struggle to say that without taking care of themselves, they cant take care of anyone else around them. My goal is for you to view yourself as the beautiful person you are mentally, physically, and emotionally. Contact me at angelica@finding-balance-therapy.com or call/text me at (765)233-6968

Dr. Joseph Soza is a clinical psychologist who helps adults understand themselves more deeply and create lasting, meaningful change. His work blends insight-oriented, psychodynamic therapy with practical, evidence-based approaches, offering a space where clients can explore long-standing patterns, navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, or relationship difficulties, and develop a clearer sense of who they are and what they want. Dr. Soza is a strong fit for individuals who are curious, reflective, and ready to engage in a thoughtful therapeutic process—people who want more than quick tips and are seeking genuine understanding, emotional growth, and a therapist who will work alongside them with warmth, honesty, and intention.
You have a story to tell. A story about you. It is a story full of hope, joy, confusion, and at times pain. Right now, you may be in that experience of confusion or pain, and feel unsure of how to make good decisions, or any decision at all. I would be honored to hear that story and journey with you as you seek to put new puzzle pieces together to find peace and clarity. All my clients (individual and couple) will come to understand their behavioral responses caused by our internal experiences of pain, what we refer to as our pain cycle. We will then map out new opportunities for personal responsibility and predictability, referred to as our peace cycle, and seek together how to practice and strengthen making decisions within our peace cycle instead of making decisions while coping with our pain cycle.

I'm passionate about helping you to both recognize and build inner resilience. My holistic understanding of wellness is rooted in culturally competent and evidence based approaches to psychotherapy. This foundation is informed not only by my clinical training, but also by an eclectic background in academia, psychological research, social justice movements, a variety of spiritual and religious contexts, mentoring teens, and teaching yoga. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Christian Theological Seminary and a Clinical Mental Health Counseling license in the state of Indiana. In addition, I hold a BA in both psychology and religious studies from Indiana University, which provides me with a broad understanding of how spirituality, religion, trauma, family systems, and society can affect us both negatively and positively. Learning and growing is a lifelong process that doesn’t end with a degree or certification. I am committed to and energized about my own growth as a clinician and person. This commitment to my own wellness and growth is a cornerstone to my work as a therapist.
