Welcome. My intention in therapy is to create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I bring curiosity, kindness, and genuine care into every session, and I honor you as the expert of your own life. My role is to be a steady guide and support as we explore what healing and growth can look like together. I draw on my experience supporting adults, adolescents, and families to help clients with anxiety, OCD, depression, and related concerns, using approaches such as ACT, ERP, and MBCT to tailor treatment. Sessions provide a supportive, trauma-informed, culturally responsive space for growth and change.
My practice is unique for the variance in working with children, adults, families, groups and couples therapy. Also in the type of issues such as trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, self-harm and more. I give back to the profession by providing supervision for students of social work, Certified Social Workers for licensure and provide trainings for licensed therapists to become supervisors. I enjoy seeing even the most minute changes in a person as they move forward in life.

I have been working with the college population throughout my career and I am aware of the unique challenges students face. If you feel that you are constantly fighting an upward battle, that no one understands your pain, that you don't know how to get out of "the pit," I am here for you. As an international psychologist trained in counseling and sport psychology, I am especially passionate about working with students of minority identities and student athletes. I also love working with couples regarding all kinds of relationship concerns. I enjoy laughing with my students in therapy, sometimes crying too, and that's okay.
It's my belief to "Keep life simple." Life is stressful enough. Balancing work, family, social life, friends, and relationships can be overwhelming at times. I practice from a harm reduction holistic theoretical orientation. It combines person-centered (respect for autonomy) with CBT/systemic therapy (a critical look at culture and attachments). By identifying wants and needs, I can assist clients with locating triggers and establishing healthy coping skills to alleviate any mental, emotional, or physical stress. I work particularly with parents and clients dealing with ADHD, Life choices, anxiety, self-esteem and accountability. I assist clients in adjusting to unexpected life transitions by constructing healthier boundaries with themselves and others to balance their lifestyles. I value the importance of creating a supportive, transparent, and collaborative relationship throughout the therapy process. I do this by providing a safe space for clients to embrace their vulnerabilities. Difficult experiences often show up in the body. Accessing embodied experience helps clients evolve. These shifts in the body have a corresponding effect on our actions, routines, and relationships. Through mindful awareness, we discover how the body holds our experiences. We learn to recognize habitual patterns and create new ones. The healing starts now...
I specialize in individual therapy with young adults. I use a solution-focused approach which means that we will be spending less time talking about the history of problems that may be present in your life, and more time building solutions for the present and future. I am warm, open, and friendly and I genuinely love working with people. I have a deep respect for each person's ability to bring about desired change. I will listen to your therapy goals, build a trusting relationship with you, and ultimately help you progress toward greater happiness and health. Nobody comes to therapy without having tried some other things first. So, you already know a bit about what works for you and what doesn’t. And you know what you want your life to be like. Once we can shift our focus from “problems” and “past” to “solutions” and “future," all things are possible. I invite YOU to be my teacher. Teach me about your life, your goals, what works and doesn’t work for you. Teach me about your struggles, your fears, your hopes, and your successes. I will listen and absorb what you what you tell me. I will seek to understand. I will make connections and ponder and apply that new information.

Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. You are trying to hold it all together, but just can’t take it anymore. You’ve hit your breaking point and don’t know what to do. Self-doubt, over-thinking everything, questioning what will make you happy. It seems like everyone else has it figured out, but you can't get it together. This is supposed to be the best time of your life, but you can't seem to enjoy it, and you need help. My name is Jennifer Branstetter, and I help students who are struggling and overwhelmed with their mental health. It might be hard to keep up with school, and maybe this is the first time you've ever struggled academically and you're wondering if something's wrong with you. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, or ADHD symptoms can interfere with forming friendships or having the "college experience" and maybe you're questioning if you made the right school choice. Maybe you aren't connecting socially or feel like you fit in. Sometimes the transition to college can be a lot harder than expected, or something like a breakup can throw you for a loop. It's common for students in this situation to feel an immense amount of pressure. Sometimes it feels like you can't talk to anyone else about it. Therapy can be a place to get it all out, figure out what is contributing to the problem, and come up with a plan to get better. It's time to get some support. You don't have to do this alone. My practice has been virtual since 2018 from my home office in Southeast Indiana, outside of Cincinnati. I see people in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. If you have a therapist at home, I'd be happy to connect with them to make the transition easier, and stay on the same page if you see them on breaks. I can also help connect you with on-campus resources or medication providers if needed. Reach out to schedule a call to see if we're a good fit.

Culture, identity, and expression are essential to happiness. However, for some of us, this is a challenge to embrace. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them embrace their true selves and accept what we cannot change. People frequently limit themselves based on old assumptions & expectations, and it can be freeing to start to untangle this. The emotional pain caused by these issues can often be isolating, and it can be healing to have somebody else there with you to explore and process. My approach to therapy is to use self-understanding and awareness as a mechanism for change. While my style is primarily insight-oriented, I have an eclectic approach incorporating various therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. My first session is exploring our fit and discussing realistic expectations and outcomes. También ofrezco sesiones en Español si es necesario o lo prefiere.
