Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
Mental Health Counseling is a process by which the therapist and client work together to help improve their quality of life as it relates to healing, personal and spiritual growth, and development. Everyone at some point in time has challenges in their life and needs help dealing with those challenges by sharing their thoughts and feelings in a private, comfortable setting that will ultimately help them to improve their quality of life. My goals are to help clients be the best version of themselves. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Christian counseling to help clients make positive changes in their lives and circumstances. I work with individuals and families specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and PTSD. I am a Human Service Professional with a demonstrated history of Non-profit organizations, Community Service, Education, and Mental Health Counseling. Allow me to help you be the best version of yourself.
We provide virtual psychotherapy services to clients that are struggling with relational issues, stress, life transitions, anxiety and depression. College can look exciting and successful from the outside while feeling overwhelming behind the scenes. You may be struggling with anxiety, academic pressure, perfectionism, relationship concerns, family expectations, or uncertainty about who you are and what comes next. Maybe others see you as responsible, driven, or strong, but you feel exhausted from trying to keep everything together. I work with college students who are used to putting pressure on themselves, taking care of others, or feeling as though they must always perform well. Therapy can be a space where you do not have to have all the answers. Together, we can explore the experiences and patterns contributing to your stress, strengthen your confidence, and help you develop healthier boundaries, relationships, and coping skills. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. Whether you are adjusting to college, navigating friendships or dating, questioning your identity, managing family stress, or preparing for life after graduation, I will support you in gaining clarity and feeling more grounded. Contact me for a free consultation to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Hi, I'm Dr. Spesh, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized experience in culturally informed treatment of anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other stress-related disorders. I enjoy working with culturally diverse individuals with a broad range of psychological problems, life, & relationship issues. My clinical and research background has specifically focused on women’s mental health, trauma (including military combat and sexual trauma), and individuals experiencing marginalization and minority stress (e.g. Black women/men, Ethnic/Racial minorities/People of Color, LGBTQ+ identified individuals). I am a Yale-trained clinician with over a decade of experience in providing psychotherapy. At my practice, D.I.V.E. Therapy & Consulting LLC, I provide individual therapy focused on a range of issues. As an LGBTQ ally with a specialized background in LGBTQ health, I also offer evaluations and letters for gender-affirming hormone therapy and surgery. As an experienced therapist I recognize that people seek therapy for a range of clinical and/or life issues, but the common goal is reducing and addressing barriers that get in the way of living a fulfilling life. If what you have read is consistent with your needs, contact me for free 15 minute consultation to see if D.I.V.E. is a good fit for you.

"You deserve the BEST. You do have CHOICES. Your choices should bring you PEACE." This is the foundation on which "Dr. Kay" builds and what helped her thrive after battling major depression in college. Initially failing in her major and being forced to withdraw with an emergency mental health leave, Dr. Kay is familiar with battling the unresolved past and pressing toward hopes for the future. Dr. Kay thrives with "young folk" who are seeking to be heard, understood and healed within this unique space.
At WellBeing NP, we work best with students who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or under pressure to “keep it together.” Many of the students we see are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, low mood, trouble sleeping, or stress from school, relationships, and life transitions. This is a good fit if you want someone who listens, explains things clearly, and helps you figure out a plan that actually feels manageable while you’re in school.

My name is Jessica Kettell and I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am here to help you restore your mental health and empower you to live your life to your fullest potential. Are you feeling sad or empty? Do you have trouble sleeping? Or maybe, you are so overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged that it’s hard for you to make it through the day? You might find it hard to focus on tasks or assignments. Whatever problems you are facing right now, let’s tackle them together! You are not alone. You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life. I have completed a Fellowship Program in Functional and Integrative Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt. My lifelong dream has been to make mental health care more accessible to individuals and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. Just as it is normal to seek treatment for diabetes, it should be natural to seek treatment to improve your mental health. You are a biochemically unique individual. A treatment that works well for someone, might not work best for you. That is why I use an evidence-based, whole-body, personalized approach to identify all factors that might be contributing to your mental health condition such as nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and stress. Good nutrition and lifestyle practices are the foundation of mental wellness. I would love to support you on your mental health journey. Let’s do this together!

Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.
