Two decades ago, I sat where you are now—uncertain but hopeful. Today, as a licensed therapist in Georgia, I use both my personal and professional experience to help you navigate your way forward. In fact, I still see the professional who first helped me start my journey—a testament to my belief in the power of having someone in your corner. If you are curious, I encourage you to take a chance on yourself. There is no commitment—you are entirely in the driver’s seat—just a safe space to see what is possible. I built my practice to be a soft landing spot for women and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics. If this sounds like you, you are in the right place. Over the past decade of working one-on-one with clients, I have developed signature healing groups—such as Transcending Trauma, Just Between Us Girls, and Adulting After Dysfunky—because I deeply believe that we heal the same way we are hurt: in relationship. Beyond our sessions, I am committed to your growth. I actively maintain an extensive, curated resource network of books, podcasts, articles, clinical handouts, and trusted specialists who uniquely understand the needs of trauma survivors. You don't have to do it "right." You just have to show up. I understand that deciding to start therapy can be difficult. At one point in my life, I was faced with that same decision. Often, the hardest part of therapy is looking in the mirror and confronting the experiences and choices that brought you to this moment. It takes courage to acknowledge your feelings and commit to making a change for yourself. My therapeutic style is client-centered, rooted in the belief that genuine, collaborative relationships form the cornerstone of meaningful healing and growth. This integrative framework allows me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, fostering self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change. You can expect their first session with me to be warm, exploratory, unveiling, and empowering, a mix of thoughtful reflection, practical goal-setting, and gentle curiosity about what’s driving current challenges and how to create positive change.

Life can be brutal, can’t it?! Can you remember that time in life when you were happy, like top of the world scream it from the rooftops happy? In that moment, everything was right in your world and then well, life happened. Now you look back and have so many questions…What happened? Let me tell you, you are not alone! We’ve all been there in some season of life. But who says this can’t make us better! Every person comes to therapy with their own individual needs. Therefore, we adapt our interventions based on a comprehensive assessment of who you are and what you need. We are all trained in a number of different interventions and like to use a combination of our training and expertise to utilize an eclectic approach to best meet the needs of each individual person. We know that every individual is uniquely different and therefore each person should have a unique therapy journey based on their own needs.
I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression-related disorders, disordered eating and eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, communication issues, social injustice, trauma recovery, and more.
Acceptance and change are hard. I help people face and make space for their life histories and experiences and support them in identifying and making the changes that lead to meaning and satisfaction in their lives and relationships. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide encouragement, support and guidance on your journey of healing and growth. My practice is focused on the needs of men, and I enjoy helping men that are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic illness or disability, relationship issues, complex trauma/childhood wounds, racial stress and trauma, and navigating adulthood/"failure to launch" and masculinity. As a Black man, I am committed to addressing the unique experiences of and challenges that face BIPOC men. I believe that humans are wired for connection and that profound and lasting healing comes from satisfying this essential need. My work is based on AEDP Psychotherapy (formally known as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and Emotionally Focused Therapy. The AEDP Institute (aedpinstitute.org) describes AEDP Psychotherapy as “an experiential model that seeks to alleviate patients’ psychological suffering by helping them process the overwhelming emotions associated with trauma in a way that facilitates corrective emotional and relational experiences that mobilize positive changes in our neuroplastic brains.” The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (iceeft.com/) describes Emotionally Focused Therapy as a “form of therapy that helps people understand and improve their emotional connection with themselves and others.” Both therapies emphasize the importance of our relationships with ourselves and others and use the power of corrective experiences with our emotions within the safe haven and secure base of the therapist-client relationship to fuel growth and healing. I also use skills and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other approaches that emphasize mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion when needed to facilitate healing. I come from a family of helpers and healers, and I have been privileged to help people in a variety of roles and settings. I have worked as a state social welfare caseworker, an assistant in a state library for the blind and disabled, a respiratory therapist and a medical social worker. I grew up in a military family and was fortunate to be exposed to and learn from a variety of cultures. I am a member of the "sandwich generation” and know what it means to care for and support older and younger family members with chronic illness and disability simultaneously. As a person living with chronic illness, I also have lived experience with the challenges and limitations that come along with living with a disability. My experiences have fostered in me a deep appreciation of and respect for the diversity of the human experience. When I am not working, I enjoy all things that involve good food, friends, and family. I look forward to learning more about you, who and what matters to you, and traveling with you on your journey of hope and healing!
